Aurora Monticelli holds a Master’s degree in psychology, with a specialization in economic, decision, and social psychology, from the University of Basel and Yonsei University in Seoul. She has worked as a research assistant in Economic Psychology and at the Institute of Nursing Science at the University of Basel. Her work has focused on interdisciplinary studies on decision-making and evidence-based quality measurement in healthcare. She was involved in projects such as the NIP-Q-UPGRADE at the Institute of Nursing Science.
For her master's project at ETH Zurich and the University of Basel, in partnership with SwissBorg, she investigated how risk preference, financial literacy, and mindset influence financial decision-making in the context of cryptocurrency adoption. In September 2024, Aurora started her PhD as part of the ENGAGE project under the direction of Prof. Dr. Franziska Zúñiga and Dr. Bastian Van Grootven. The project aims to engage older adults in a community-based initiative combining physical and social activities to prevent frailty and social isolation.
