Aurora Monticelli is a researcher with a MSc in psychology, specializing in economic, decision, and social psychology. Her research experience includes projects on evidence-based quality measurement in healthcare and interdisciplinary studies on decision-making. She has contributed to projects such as NIP-Q-UPGRADE at the Institute of Nursing Science from the University of Basel. Her master’s project, conducted at ETH Zurich and the University of Basel in collaboration with SwissBorg, explored how cognitive and behavioral factors—such as financial literacy, risk preferences, and mindset—influence decision-making in complex and uncertain financial environments. This interdisciplinary perspective informs her current work in the ENGAGE project, where she explores older adults' engagement in community-based programs to prevent frailty and social isolation. She investigates strategies to enhance participation in programs that combine physical and social activities, contributing to the development of sustainable interventions tailored to local contexts.
