Lynn Leppla works as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute of Nursing Science, Basel as well as a trained oncology nurse in the field of allogeneic stem cell transplantation at the University Hospital Freiburg, Germany. Lynn Leppla has earned her PhD in nursing science in 2021 from the University of Basel. Her dissertation was about the development and implementation of an integrated model of care for allogeneic SteM cell transplantatIion faciLitated by eHealth (SMILe). As a co-investigator of the SMILe project, she is still running the SMILe study in the University Hospital Freiburg and has published first project results internationally. Driven by a strong belief that innovations in the field of stem cell transplantation are only possible through a synergistic interplay between clinical work, research, and education, Lynn Leppla continues combining her clinic and research appointments and started as a Co-PI the DARE – New DAta new REsponsibilities project. This bi-national project (INS-Switzerland, University of Applied Science Augsburg and University Hospital Freiburg, Germany) aims at reflecting on ethical, social and legal aspects while implementing and evaluating eHealth solutions in health care.
