Maryam Ahmadi Shad studied nursing at Kashan University of Medical Sciences in Iran. After completing her bachelor in 2015, she worked for one year as a clinical nurse. She graduated from KAUMS with a Master of Medical-Surgical nursing in 2018. She wrote her master's thesis on "Measurement of nurses' care-related and non-care activities and its related factors in critical care units". During her Master's studies, she worked as a part-time instructor for 3 years, and after graduation in 2018, she officially became a full-time instructor for one year in the Kashan Nursing faculty. As the first international research work experience with the University of Basel, she joined as an international collaborator to the TAILR project in 2019. Since January 2020, she has been working as a faculty member of the Department of Social Medicine at the KAUMS. During the COVID pandemic, she worked as a researcher and a member of the Covid-19 Epidemiological committee. In October 2021 she joined the INS as a PhD student to work on the interdisciplinary projects of CroWis and TAILR under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michael Simon.
